World’s Finest Chocolate is celebrating its
60th anniversary with a search for the
World’s Finest Principal. Teachers and
students can work together to show why their
school’s principal is the World’s Finest by
submitting drawings, essays, PowerPoint
presentations, videos, and more. Entries
should be compiled and submitted to Today’s
Catholic Teacher by Dec. 1. The entry form

Cray-Pas announces its 15th Annual
Wonderful, Colorful World Contest. Cray-Pas
is seeking the best student artwork created
with oil pastels. The contest is open to
students in three grade-level categories:
K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Great prizes for
students, teachers, and schools! The entry

The National Beta Club is the nation's
largest independent, non-profit, educational
youth organization. The Scholarship Program
is one way National Beta Club recognizes the
achievements of its members. It offers
scholarships to outstanding Beta Club
members in their senior year. Over two
hundred scholarships are awarded each year,
ranging in value from $1,000 to $15,000.
Senior high school students who are active
National Beta Club members may be nominated
by their chapters to participate in the
scholarship competition. Selection is based
on factors including academic excellence,
leadership, character, school and community
service, and participation in National Beta

Enter Now! The Zaner-Bloser National
Handwriting Contest awards prizes on the
state and national levels to students in
grades 1-8 whose schools use Zaner-Bloser
handwriting products. Last year's Grand
National Champion won more than $1,500 in
prizes. This year we will have a Grand
National Champion from each grade level 1-8.
All new prizes are planned for the 2009-2010

The Toyota
TAPESTRY Grants for Science Teachers program
is accepting entries for the 2009-2010
competition. Sponsored by Toyota Motor
Sales, U.S.A., and administered by the
National Science Teachers Association (NSTA),
the program offers grants of up to $10,000
to K-12 teachers for innovative science
projects that enhance science education a
one-year period. Fifty large grants and a
minimum of 20 mini-grants totaling $550,000
will be awarded this year. Individual
science teachers or a team of up to five
teachers can submit proposals in one of
three categories: physical science
application; environmental science
education; and integrating literacy and
science. A judging panel will select the
award-winning projects based on several
criteria, including their innovative
approach in teaching science and ability to
create a stimulating and hands-on learning
environment. Applicants must either be an
elementary teacher who teaches science in
the classroom or a middle or high school
science teacher. For more information about
